Al is looking good, considering what he’s been through. He came off the ventilator today and I got visit him twice today.
He wanted his glasses and iPod, so he’s feeling good enough to do more than just lie there. With the tubes out of his throat, he’s talking and in pretty good spirits. He says his breathing is feeling better already, but there is some soreness yet. I thought he looked really good.
I visited again tonight, even though there is no shuttle service. I found out it’s not too bad of a walk and walked down for an evening visit. While I was there, they moved him into a bigger room with a TV. Where he was before, he was right by the doors coming into the unit and it was always busy. He’s now in a more off-the path area, so he’ll be able to rest better.
I’ll be back in the morning. I hope he’ll be even better to report then.

That’s awesome, Al!!! The picture of Al is wonderful — that he’s off the vent is just great!!! His recovery is sounding an awful lot like mine — please tell him I won’t be upset if he outdoes me… There is not that much that feels better than watching a fellow CFer succeed… Well, I guess watching someone and being his Dad might feel pretty damn good…
Tell him I’m proud of him…
Love,
Steve
How great to see Al III looking so good, wide awake and no tubes down his throat! Paul and I send our best wishes to him and I especially send my thoughts of support to Al the Dad, knowing what it is to attend at the bedside of one you love as the healing progresses, sometimes slowly and sometimes more quickly. Your caring presence will surely mean much to him.
Great news, Al! Al is looking great! So happy to hear he is doing well and in good spirits. Truly good news!
Much Love,
Sarah
Good to see Al smiling and doing well. Can’t wait to see him back to his old (and probably physically improved) self. Best of luck from his friends on the internet.
On behalf of the Internet*, I wish your son a speedy recovery.
*the awesome half
I don’t know much about such things, but it seems like he’s off hte ventilator awful quick. This is wonderful news.
As another one of his internet pals, I too am happy to see him doing well.
This won’t make any sense to anyone but Al himself, but if you told him that both Belka and Bonesteel were rooting for him, I think he’s get a chuckle out of it.
Hooray for Al III! He looks like he’s doing quite well. Both of you Al’s get some rest. Keep us posted on his recovery.

Hi Albert. I’m so happy that you are looking so good this soon. It was so exciting to be able to see you . I printed the photo so I can look at it and show it to my friends and family. My friends that you met last June were at my house last night to play cards and I informed them about your surgery and we all prayed for your speeedy recovery. I also sent the e-mail to Aunt Casey in Arizona. Then to Kevin and Gary. I offered my Mass and Communion today for you. Gary is on the phone right now and he’s showing me how to blog and it’s his first blogging too. We are all blog virgins. lol Take care. God Bless you. Love, Dolores
Hi Albert, I’ve been real anxious to hear how you are doing? I pray that you continue improving every day. I would love to hear from you if that’s possible.Have you moved to “the house” yet? How is your therapy coming along? Is Frank stil with you? Take care. Love, Dolores
