Occasionally, I spout off about something that bothers me here. Really, I do. Well, alright, that’s about all I do here. This is another of those times.

I have to talk about something that is undoubtedly one of the most serious problems our modern society faces, if not in magnitude, at least in sheer ubiquity. While not a large problem, it’s tenacity as it keeps coming back and back to haunt me makes it irritating on a grand scale.

Sometimes, two things that ordinarily, wouldn’t draw a second thought come together in a way that approaches the surreal. I had that experience today.

I was watching the pre-game show before the Buffalo Bills game at Indianapolis. They played a commercial, maybe you’ve seen it, that features a number of Bills fans in full game-day paraphernalia against a black background expressing their love of the Bills. It’s supposed to make you want to run out and buy tickets, I suppose. The building formerly housing the Lotus Spa that was the center of controversy last spring as a front for prostitution sits empty with a For Sale sign on it today.

The grass is uncut and knee-high, and Christmas lights are falling off the roof, a condition it was never in when the spa was operating!
