Every time I hear that commercial, I can’t help but think of Oliver Street in North Tonawanda.
Is it just me?
If you don’t get it, Oliver Street used to be known for the number of Bars (Pubs, Beer Joints, etc.) it held. It was a common local lore that it was in the Guinness Book of records for having the most establishments of that type on a single street anywhere. It may or may not have been true, but we liked to think so. Many a person vowed to start at one end and have a drink at each bar until they reached the other end. Not many ever made it.
