I upgraded the software on this site today. Both WordPress and Podpress are now up-to-date. I recently did the same to my podcast site.
Okay, so the blog software is updated, but why Podpress? Why podcast support in a blog the rarely has audio content?
Good question. The main reason is not for podcasts, but for audio comments. One of the cool things Podpress has added in the last couple versions is Mobatalk voice comments.
So, you can now leave a comment in voice. All you need is a microphone connected to your computer. Many laptops now have one built-in and lots of people use headsets for things like Skype, or chat programs or even online games. So go ahead, say hello or let me know what you think. Leave a voice comment.
You can also leave a voice mail message with the applet you get by clicking the link in the sidebar.
I met the founder of MobaTalk, Michael Bailey, at Podcamp Toronto and this is just the tip of the iceberg. Once they get their system finished it’s going to do much more than just voice comments, so watch for more cool things someday.
