As reported by local radio today, Delphi CEO, Robert “Steve” Miller stopped at a local diner not far from the Delphi plant yesterday for a bite to eat. They reported he had breakfast at the diner, a blue-collar haven, and ate alone.

While that makes for a nice story, it’s unlikely. Delphi CEO’s have a private security force and rarely travel alone. Given the current controversial status of the company, it’s even more unlikely that the CEO would venture out alone a few tenths of a mile from the plant full of angry workers.

He may have sat at a booth alone, in fact, he probably wouldn’t dine with underlings, but you can be sure his security was no more than a few feet away.
