Midnight shift is going fine. Somehow it is easier to stay up all night than to get up at some ungodly hour in the morning.
I felt a cold coming on yesterday – sore throat and slightly feverish feeling – but went home and took some NyQuil and slept it off. I’ve found sleeping in the morning works well, noone is home and it’s quiet.
Lunch is just about non-existant on this shift. A lunch cart comes around about 3:30, but I haven’t bothered with it. I usually just microwave something I bring in whenever I feel hungry. Then a bagel for breakfast around 6:00 does it for the night. I’ll probably lose some weight and make my doctor happy.
We’ll see how the weekend works. Should I stay up late and sleep in, or try to adjust to a more “normal” schedule?
